Ideas? It’s all history…

Thoughts on writing from NL Holmes during the creation of Empire at Twilight and the Lord Hani Mysteries.

~ ~ ~ The initial idea of The Lord Hani Mysteries storyline, characters, and plot came during one of my archeological digs in the Near East.

After a miserable international flight of waiting in lines too long, bad food and a head cold, I had just been detained for 18 hours by some (over?) zealous guards. They thought my mode of lightweight travel (a single over-night bag and purse were highly suspicious for someone planning to stay six-weeks or more. In the waning hours of the day - it dawned… Good and evil are not what they seem…

…but it took over a decade to put those thoughts to writ. Reflecting on that time - and how many centuries had passed since these stories could have actually happened - that gestation period doesn’t seem so long.
